Celebrating International Women’s Day 2023

As a team, we reflected on what this year’s International Women’s Day theme #EmbraceEquity means to us. Read on to discover our reflections.

As a majority female team, we know first-hand the power of women in driving innovation, creativity, and success. This week we took some time to celebrate International Women’s Day and honor the countless contributions of women around the world. We partnered with three other female founded brands to bring this event to life.

Held at Sun House Studios, a beautiful creative space founded by Marissa, Sarah the founder Inner Bloom tea, talked to us about the power of the female cycle and how we all can deepen our understanding to support the women we love. We also tried some of Inner Blooms blends - teas that are designed to help support through each stage of our cycle.

We also had some downtime to connect and get creative as we put watercolours to paper and tried to recreate these stunning floral arrangements from female owned Oh Flora florist. We may not all be featuring our artworks at the MET anytime soon, but we all had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate International Woman’s Day together as a team.

We asked our brand partners why they believe it’s important to support and work with other female businesses. Read on to see what they had to say.

"There is such magic we make when we collaborate, share stories and skills. My advice is always to reach out to your community for help as women are so generous."

India, Social Manager

”Embracing equity means breaking down the barriers that hold women back. Education, healthcare, employment, and political representation should be for all women, not just some. Let's celebrate International Women's Day by fighting for a world where "women's issues" are just called "issues."“

Georgia, Graphic Designer
”Embracing equity to me means acknowledging the struggles women worldwide face with differing circumstances and situations experienced in their life. It means joining together to help them overcome their obstacles to create fairness and opportunity for all women.”

Sam, eCommerce Lead
“Embracing equity for me as a male, means making a conscious effort in addressing the proliferation of social constructs which negatively impact or deter the provision of equal opportunities to women of all ages.”

Tae, Marketing Director
”To me, embracing equity means acknowledging we don’t all have the same resources available to us and making a conscious effort to help one another achieve a level playing field in all aspects of life.”
